World History: (Group 21) Competencies to be covered: (causes and consequences and changes over time) -The European Renaissance -European Exploration and Colonization -The French Revolution and American Revolution -Industrialization -Imperialism
Geography:(Group 21) In this human geography course we look at how a territory has a profound effect on the populations that inhabit it. We will use multiple documents (maps, images, charts and graphs) to analyze how the characteristics play a role in the organization of various territories. Territories to be studied this year: -The heritage territory -The indigenous territory -The industrial territory
-Term 1: Our values and how they are developed. How our values affect our decision making and actions. -Term 2: Choices and healthy behaviours. Knowing risks and staying safe. -Term 3: World Cultures and Religions Our class will discuss various topics while investigating how our values and beliefs play a role in our opinions and actions. We aim to foster a safe environment in our classroom to encourage open dialogue about topics that directly affect our everyday experiences.
*This course is offered twice in a nine day cycle; if a student is absent for a class they are to visit the TEAMS website to get the assignment that they missed.
